Basic parameters: Cytotoxins consist of 60-63 amino acid residues with molecular weight of 6-7KD. Cytotoxins are the main active proteins in Cobra venom, accounting for about 40% of the total protein of Cobra venom. There are 2-5 kinds of cytotoxins in Chinese Cobra venom.
Biological activity: Most of the membrane toxins have cytotoxic activity. Cytotoxins can selectively kill macroeosinophils at appropriate doses, but not human erythrocytes, cardiomyocytes and other normal cells. It has a wide range of biological activities, such as dissolving tumor cells and inhibiting enzymes (such as Na +-K +-ATPase, Ca2 +-ATPase, etc.). Different species of snakes have different types of cytotoxins in different regions.
