CTX is a kind of neurotoxin protein, separated from Naja atra, molecular mass 7KD. It acts on postsynaptic nicotinic acetylcholine receptors at the neuromuscular junction, as competitive antagonists of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Compared to other analgesic, CTX shows no drug addiction and dependency.
